Become A Pilot

Health

The first step is to visit an aviation medical examination facility. For pilots, physical and mental health are the most important to operate safely. An Aviation Medical Certificate is needed before starting any training. While an EASA Class 2 Medical Certificate is sufficient for the LAPL and PPL training, a Class 1 Medical Certificate is required for airline pilot training programs.

Age Requirement

Generally, the minimum age to start is 17, for some courses such as Private Pilot License training and Light Aircaft Pilot License if you have permission from your parents. On the other hand, there is no maximum legal age so as long as you have a valid medical certificate for the required training.

Education

A university degree is no longer needed, but it is important to hold at least a High School Diploma, or equivalent. English is the main language of aviation, therefore fluency in English, both written and oral is very important. At Delta Alpha Aviation, all the professional courses are taught in English and courses such as LAPL and PPL can be completed in Hungarian as well. The minimum English language requirement is: CEFR B2 English Exam or IELTS 6 or TOEFL 72 or equivalent. In addition to having one of those language certificates, an ICAO Aviation English Certificate is required with a result of 4 or higher. This aviation English exam, which is oral, must be done before your first solo flight unless you can speak Hungarian.
